How is Japanese food still a part of Japanese society today?

I need to know how the cultural aspect of Japanese food is still related to Japanese society today and details to supports this

Japanese cuisine has not changed, although Japanese society is now more open to other cuisines, as evidenced by the inclusion of Chinese, Japanese, Italian, and French chefs on the program Iron Chef.

    related to Japanese society …what type of society in Japan you are mentioning?

    I am Japanese and eating Japanese food with my family at my home but not every day we also cook spaghetti,English style curry and chinese food and french cake as well without thinking cultural aspect
