Some great places there that should be on any travel schedule to Japan.

Tokyo – Asakusa district famous for Sensoji temple and Nakamise shopping street; Meiji Shrine; The Imperial Palace; Ginza and Harajuku.

Kyoto – Kiyomizudera; Kinkakuji (Temple of the Golden Pavilion); Ginkakuji (Temple of the Silver Pavilion); Nijo Castle; and Heian Shrine.

Hiroshima – Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park, Peace Memorial Museum, Genbaku Dome (Atomic Bomb Dome), Hiroshima-jo castle and Miyajima.

Nara – Todai-ji (???) or Great Eastern Temple.

What kind of jobs can I take when learning Japanese?

Posted on July 29th, 2011 by admin

I got a lot of suggestions like:
1. Japanese Teacher
2. Tour Guide
Etc, etc..

But I’m pretty sure there are more interesting jobs out there.
[It can be living in Japan, or living here where I am.. (Australia)]

Hello… "Tu Duy"? xD

Other jobs I can think of right now are: Being a translator (can be done from Australia or Japan) or applying to the JET program to teach English in Japan (you would still need a very good level of Japanese if you don’t want to feel lost all the time :P )

Why do japanese bands avoid touring in america?

Posted on July 27th, 2011 by admin

See i like j-rock j -pop and all stuff japanese i am not a weeaboo i know i am not or will ever be japanese.
i have noticed for some reason though japanese bands will tour in places like germany, italy, russia
france, south america europe and parts of asia but never america….
we like their stuff too!! not all of us are ignorant!!
is it that they just hate america or americans?
or they think that they will get no appreciation here… if so …
why places like south america or russia…? ( no offense i am half russian.)

They do come here sometimes actually but maybe its harder to find out? Im guessing they might not like how america is for fans. If you dont get what i mean, go watch footage of a japanese concert. Notice how everyone is quiet for the music so you can actually hear it? Americans sing along and scream all the time. Yet i guess other countries do that too so *shrugs*

Help me find this Japanese singer who toured in Thailand a few months ago?

Posted on May 28th, 2011 by admin

I came across to a Thai tv the other day, and noticed a young Japanese singer, was invited in an interview of one tv channel there, the host was female, seemed older, also they went to a farm to see and feed cows(IDK why), another scene they were walking in a market and there’re many Thai girls tried to screenshoot him to their phones.

The guy didn’t speak much nor seemed to care much of the crowd attention.

Do you recall that Japanese singer? (I’m sure he’s a singer, because I saw him in NPK the other day)

A lot of innocent chinese ,british ,american ,russian people suffered the worst deaths possible. Yet the Japanese brush it off like it was nothing. It was on par with the gassing of jews in my opinion.

The japanese do their tours of Hiroshima and make sure their students know about that ,but what about the 300 000 innocent chinese and thousands of Europeans killed is that taught ? No most japanese are obvious to it.

There is a saying what goes around comes around . Maybe you can understand why the chinese hate japan and shouldn’t forgive until japan apologizes properly and destroys the memorial’s of the soldiers and general’s involved.

I agree. The Japanese have a double standard when it comes to war atrocities. I was watching a doco about Japan’s views on WW2 some time ago, and all they talk about is being the ‘victims’ of Hiroshima. Not once do they talk about the cimes they themselves committed during the war such as this or the Nanking Massacre and other heinous acts. The Japanese history books completely brush these acts under the carpet, with the new generations being taught as though they were the victims of the war. I don’t see Japanese sentiment changing on this any time soon.

Why do japanese people take so many photos when they are on holiday?

Posted on May 9th, 2011 by admin

I’ve been on several tours with japanese people and I find it truly baffling the amount of photos they take of really mundane things: like taking a photo of their food in a restaurant, taking a photo outside a public loo door and similarly trivial things like that etc…Can anyone shed some light why it seems to be a very " japanesy" thing to spend all their time taking endless photos of mundane things instead of soaking in the experience?Do they have a really short memories and feel the need to photograph everything in case they forget something truly not worth remembering? Or is this some cultural thing with some kind of meaning that only the Japanese are privy to?
I would welcome Japanese people answering this question, or someone who knows about Japanese culture. And in answer to someone who answered implying that I am picking on the Japanese:no I am not picking on Japanese people, as I am very found of them and their culture: I am just curious why they do something that most people commonly don’t.

Because not many japanese people are on TV or in magazines usually, so maybe they take a lot of pictures themselves to make up for it?

japanese band 2010 – 2011 tour dates?

Posted on October 24th, 2010 by admin

does anyone know the tour dates of any japanese band that will be in new york either spring break week or during the summer? thanks ( i am from texas but my friend and I are planning to take a flight to new york just to see a japanese band =) thanks

I’m sorry! I just looked up all the Japanese bands I know(which is quite a lot) and none of them are touring in New York(or even in the US at all.)

It really is a shame that their music is hidden from the rest of the world. I wish that bands from other countries could become more popular in america…
